Marina graduated from the University of Auckland with a conjoint degree in Law and Arts double majoring in Ancient History and History.

Her deep interest in humanities and problem solving directed her to a career where she can critically think and engage with people. Litigation ticked all the boxes.

Since joining Grimshaw & Co, she has prepared a matter for the Court of Appeal, assisted with various interlocutory matters including appearing at case management conferences and call-overs. She has worked with large scale discovery and inspection in areas of civil and construction law.

Marina is passionate about giving back to the community and has held various governance positions for sporting organisations. She currently serves on the executive committee for the New Zealand Women’s Lacrosse Association where she maintains relationships with stakeholders within New Zealand and internationally. Marina’s knack for interpersonal engagement is an asset for the firm as she can connect quickly with clients as she does in the lacrosse community.

She was the first person of Lao descent to be admitted to the bar in New Zealand and speaks conversational Laotian.
