On 23 November 2010 the Government introduced the Weathertight Homes Resolution Services (Financial Assistance Package) Amendment Bill. It facilitates the delivery of the financial assistance package to eligible owners of leaky homes. However, it does not contain details as to who qualifies for the package. These are to be determined by the chief executive later. What is interesting is that the agreed repair costs that form the basis of payments by the Crown and Councils also includes costs associated with the repair work such as design and management fees and also the costs of alternative accommodation and storage/moving. It does not include legal fees or general damages.
